What does it mean to meditate? To meditate is to rest one’s body and awaken one’s self. Thus, there are several meditation benefits one can get through relaxation techniques and submitting to the power of the spirit. If meditation is capable of affecting different areas of the brain, then this is the key to live in harmony.
In this study, the participants trained in three different types of meditation wherein it was relevantly linked to the changes in certain regions of their brain. The types of meditation training were:
1. Presence Module
Participants learn to focus their attention and giving emphasis to breathing techniques and inner sensations in their body. This module is similar to awareness meditation. The transcendental meditation technique and vipassana meditation are good examples of this.
2. Affect Module
This module aims to boost their compassion and empathy towards other people. Working with others is no easy task, considering personalities are different from one person to another. But, the objective is to learn lovingkindness.
3. Perspective Module
It aims to enhance their own thoughts in being non-judgmental and being able to understand the perspective of others. Mindfulness-based meditation helps a person open up to another as mutual understanding flourishes.
When Can You Meditate?
The sooner you start your meditation training, the sooner you’ll benefit from it. There are training modules for the novice to experienced meditators. There are also no age requirements. Seeking the right coach for you at your most convenient time is the question you need to answer.
Where Can You Perform Meditation Techniques?
You can practically practice any form of meditation anywhere. Performing mindfulness-based stress reduction from lying in bed to your driving and even at work can be a good start. You can even choose to practice it in the most stressful circumstances of your daily lives. It’s all a matter of commitment, discipline, and keeping your eyes on the end goal–which is to become a better you than you are today.
Why Should You Even Try?
#Meditation can do so much to help us if we have a tendency to ruminate – which is a big factor in #depression. We can take back control, and no longer feel at the mercy of our worries. #TuesdayThoughts https://t.co/qHtMW6rxaH

We can say our community has grown broader, instead of saying our world has grown smaller, with the introduction of social media and the use of the Internet. We want you to improve your overall well-being, lower symptoms of anxiety and depression, experience compassion, empathy, understanding another person’s perspective without being judgmental about it.
Moreover, meditation affects the relationship between one’s self and others. Studies show it teaches compassion, empathy, and mindfulness, which in turn all lead to a positive life. So, being familiar with different types of meditation, mantra meditation, for example, being the most basic, is something people can work on to raise self-awareness and to be a better individual with a sound mind and body.
